Inbound lead
An inbound lead is a prospect who initiates contact with your company or shows interest in your product or service through your marketing channels. These leads come to you rather than being reached out to, typically after engaging with your content, website, or campaigns.
Inbound leads are generated through:
- Filling out a contact or demo request form
- Downloading gated content
- Signing up for a newsletter or free trial
- Responding to webinars, events, or ads
- Organic search or social media
Inbound leads tend to have higher intent because they’ve already expressed interest. As a result, they often convert faster and require less outbound effort. Marketing and sales teams use lead scoring to prioritize which inbound leads are most likely to become customers.
