Zero-touch sales is a fully automated sales model where customers move through the buying journey and complete purchases without direct interaction with a sales rep.
It’s common in product-led growth (PLG) companies and digital-first business models where the product sells itself through a self-service experience.
In zero-touch sales, the customer typically:
- Signs up via a website or app
- Experiences the product through a free trial or freemium version
- Upgrades, pays, and manages their plan without human assistance
Zero-touch sales allows companies to scale efficiently, lower customer acquisition cost (CAC), and focus reps on higher-value, complex deals. It's ideal for low-value annual contracts, high-volume products, or when users prefer to buy on their own terms.
