A discovery call is the first live conversation between a sales rep and a qualified prospect, focused on understanding the prospect’s needs, challenges, goals, and buying process.
It’s a foundational step in the sales cycle, where the rep gathers insights to determine whether the product is a good fit and, if so, how to adjust the next steps.
