Dennis Goyal, Co-Founder & COO of the eCommerce lead gen agency in India, had a conversation with our CEO Relja Denic and explained how his agency got where it is today thanks to Skylead.
Can you tell us a little bit about your agency?
Dennis: “Basically, we are running a fashion e-commerce agency. We founded it in 2020. Before that, I was with some other agencies. We are primarily working with fashion and D2C brands. Most clients we have now are based in India. However, we did have a lot of clients based in the US and Europe, especially in London as well since we did some outreach on the global market.
Last year, because of the time zones, we kinda started prioritizing our sleep, so we stopped working with our foreign clients. So we had all the clients in India. But recently we’ve thought Okay, let's do it, so we started doing outreach for the global market again.
Our target audience is mostly founders, co-founders, directors, presidents, CEOs, even creative directors, marketing, and fashion designers. So these are all the target audiences here.”
What goals did you try to achieve before Skylead but couldn’t?
Dennis: “I think I first got exposure to LinkedIn and started using it in 2018 or 2019. And at that time, I was unaware of automation platforms like Skylead. So I was doing manual outreach, and I remember there was a 100-connections-per-day limit. So I sent 100 connections per day manually.
I had one account I used to send 100 connections, and it took me like 2 to 3 hours to do the outreach. I was never available, and it was really messed up because I didn’t have a proper record of those leads or how to do follow-ups. It was just like sending the manual connections and then removing those connections manually as well. So it was a very tedious process back then.
My goal was to generate 3 or 4 qualified appointments per day back then. I was able to do it, but it was taking time off from me. People weren’t quite interested back then, especially due to COVID, but some were. So I grew to manage 2 or 3 LinkedIn accounts, but it took me a lot of time. It became very tricky for me to manage all those accounts manually. So, we knew we needed to start looking for some tool to help us.
My partner - we are two co-founders of the agency - started looking for an automation tool. He recommended one of your competitors. So I started using that one first, but I was not happy with their platform and user experience. And then he mentioned I could go with Skylead as well. And I started using Skylead, and it really amazed me. I mean, the user experience was excellent. Somehow I was able to understand the platform really quickly, and then I stuck to this tool. And I think I would never switch from this platform because it’s been 2 years using Skylead here, and I still really like it.”
What challenges did Skylead resolve for you?
Dennis: “The outreach became very consistent with Skylead because it was completely automated. I used to do it manually, but it was very inconsistent. Like, I was able to do it 3 days in and then got bored. *laughs*
But with Skylead, I never have to think about sending all those LinkedIn connections, messages, or InMails, and even withdrawing pending requests ever again. I was never sending InMails when I was doing it manually; it was really hard for me. So Skylead has helped me send InMails automatically, even emails as well. And that all combined effort has helped me to generate qualified appointments every day.
So that was the most significant part for me. Obviously, Skylead saves me a lot of time. Otherwise, I would end up burning 3 or 4 hours doing manual outreach.
And since lead generation has become fully automated, I don’t have to think about it now. All we had to do was reply to the leads and book a call. So that is the best part. I think that was our biggest problem and a challenge that Skylead has resolved.”
How do you use Skylead now, and what are the results?
Dennis: “I’ve been using emails, InMails, and LinkedIn connection requests and messages altogether. But emails and LinkedIn messages are giving me the best conversion rate. InMail is also an excellent feature. I have been using it for some of the accounts. And I have been using Smart sequences in most of the accounts.
As for other channels, we’ve been using PPC ads, and we definitely call people whom we reach out to using Skylead as well. They also convert into our clients.
As for the results, it depends on how many accounts we have. So recently we increased our income by quite a lot. I wouldn’t want to disclose that one, but I can say that, before, we could generate less than 30 calls per month, but then our team was smaller. Over time, we grew, and we decided to increase our team size and our outreach on Skylead as well. We have many accounts on Skylead now, and we have been able to generate 120+ calls in the last 4 months.
We are able to close 8 leads, like $10K in the new MRR each month, so that’s how much we get from Skylead monthly. Because we’ve increased our volume and that has given us a lot of opportunities.
And we usually reach out to about 8000 leads per month, and we have about 30 to 40 connections per day.”
What features do you find most beneficial in Skylead?
Dennis: “I think it must be one of the new features that have been added - saved templates. That was a really good feature which I liked the most. I don’t have to go to all the accounts and create the campaigns again, so that’s a game changer. It saves a lot of time.
And then the saved replies - a feature that helps us save and use our frequently used replies as templates in other messages. I wasn’t using that feature before, but I started using it recently. It works very well for me and saves a lot of time as well. It’s all about efficiency, and these small things make us more efficient.
When you are using one account, you don’t think about these features. Then you are like: Okay, I can do it manually, which I was also doing. But as soon as the number of accounts increased in Skylead, you started to realize that all these features like saved replies or templates could help you a lot.”
Why did you choose Skylead, and do you have any words for our potential customers?
Dennis: “I think it was because of the customer support. I like Skylead’s customer support a lot. I’ve been using a lot of software and tools, and CRMs as well and I’ve never seen a customer support like here at Skylead. Your customer support is very friendly, so when I have any challenge, I reach out to them, and they immediately solve the issue. Sometimes I have issues connecting the accounts, and I don’t have to explain them; they are already on it to fix it through the backend, which is very good. So that’s the biggest reason we didn’t want to switch to any other platform.
The second reason is that the platform is user-friendly. I think anybody, if they are not tech-savvy, can quickly learn it. It won’t take you even a single day.
These are just a few reasons I would recommend Skylead to anyone. I like the platform, so I recommend it to anyone in the B2B business. They should use Skylead.
Through Skylead, our prospecting and outreach have become very strong, so now we are thinking of doing it as a service for some of the businesses. So, I mean, Skylead has given us that opportunity. I believe this is the best part which I am pleased about.
So I would suggest everyone use it - even if they have a system where everything is sorted out, like doing cold calls. I know many people in my industry that use emails as their main channel. They might want to explore LinkedIn as a prospecting channel, so I would certainly suggest they look into Skylead and how it could help them.”
