How to Target Leads Attending a Specific LinkedIn Event: A Step-By-Step Guide

When it comes to Lead Generation, there is no better way of having a high acceptance rate than reaching out to your prospects with a very concrete reference. For instance, if you target leads attending a specific LinkedIn Event, the chances of your Invites to Connect being welcomed are pretty strong.

And you know what that implies? Higher conversion rates.

That’s why we’ve decided to write a step-by-step guide on how to target leads attending a specific LinkedIn Event.

Put it to good use! 😎

Step N1: Find the Event Which Leads You Want to Target

Open your LinkedIn page and search for the event which leads you would like to target.

There are two options at your disposal:

1. Typing the name of the specific event in the LinkedIn search engine;

2. Running a blank search that will lead to the “Events” button option (see below).

If you click on “Events”, as a result, you will get a list of all future LinkedIn events.

Step N2: Sign Up For the Event To See Who’s Attending

Choose the event which leads you would like to target and click on “Attend event”.

You will not be able to see the leads attending a specific LinkedIn event unless you joined it yourself.

Once you’ve signed up, click here (see below) and you will find the list of all people planning to attend.

Once you open your list of leads, you can further narrow it down by using all available LinkedIn filters.

NOTE: When targeting leads attending a specific LinkedIn Event know that you can reach out to them before or after the event.

Sometimes after is even better, because you can personalize the reference to the event more. However, at the end of the day, it all depends on your business goal and your product/service.

Step N3: Copy-Paste the URL to Skylead’s Campaign Creator

Once you are happy with your search result, copy-paste the URL to Skylead’s Campaign Creator.

Put in the Campaign name (for example: the name of the event – “Microsoft OneNote”).

Copy – Paste the URL where it says “LinkedIn URL”.

Skylead will automatically recognize the types of connections you are targeting (for example: 2nd & 3rd)

Step N4: Personalize Your Connection Invite By Making a Reference to the Specific LinkedIn Event

The fact that you are attending/attended the same event is such a valuable reference when personalizing your Connection Request or a regular LinkedIn message.

Your outreach will not seem random.

Therefore, the acceptance rate immediately goes up.

Here, we will help you with an example.

You can start with something like:

Hey {{firstName}},

I’ve noticed you too attended the “Microsoft OneNote – Your Secret Productivity Weapon” event.

I found learning how to optimize my task management using OneNote with Outlook to get reminders for tasks and events particularly useful!

Step N5 (optional): Get Creative About Your Outreach

Personalizing your Connection Request or a regular LinkedIn message by using a reference to a LinkedIn event you both attended means hitting a bulls-eye of Lead Generation Strategy.

However, if you feel like going a step further, our Image & GIF hyper-personalization tool is at your disposal.

Get creative about your outreach and use this remarkable feature to spark your prospects’ interest in what you have to say or offer.

For example, add a hyper-personalized GIF to your Connection Request or a regular LinkedIn Message.

Or, express your desire to connect with a personalized Image only.
